This is Sugama of the TAILORS WORLD editorial department. This time we would like to introduce a new items made of silk from Nishijin.

We have been importing fabrics from Vanners, a long-established British silk weaving company, to produce a variety of men’s accessories, but unfortunately Vanners is no longer able to produce fabrics due to their poor management. We have started to deal in fabrics woven by a long-established weaver in Nishijin, Kyoto, which are of very good quality and can replace Vanners’ silk as a new material. This time we are introducing an armbands, bow ties and pocket chiefs in a houndstooth pattern in four colours that are relatively easy to match.

Armbands made of Kyoto Nishijin silk jacquard.

Bow ties made of silk jacquard from Nishijin, Kyoto.

This silk has a soft fullness and firm thickness due to the firm beating of the weft yarns on a traditional low-speed loom.

Pocket chiefs made of Kyoto Nishijin silk Jacquard.

Pocket chiefs made from a fluffy, thick silk Jacquard fabric, which fits securely in a jacket pocket.
