Ascot ties were once a highly popular item, flying off our shelves about a decade ago. However, with changing trends, their usage has dwindled in recent years. Interestingly, we’ve noticed a resurgence in popularity this year, with an increasing number of orders coming in. It seems that Ascot ties are making a comeback.
Considering this trend, we believe there might be customers interested in creating and selling Ascot ties using their own unique fabrics. Therefore, we’d like to guide you through the process of placing a custom order for Ascot ties.
The necessary information for producing Ascot ties (as specified by you) includes the total length and the width of the blade. The Ascot ties available at EXCY FORMAL have a length of 130cm and a blade width of 16cm. If you wish to use the same dimensions, sending us the fabric of your choice will allow us to create Ascot ties for you.
To determine the required fabric length, we have unraveled one Ascot tie for examination. The fabric we will use is the S-601 silk, which has a width of 100cm.
At EXCY FORMAL, Ascot ties are cut on the bias, similar to neckties. Allowing for some margin, approximately 125cm of the 100cm-wide fabric is sufficient to produce one Ascot tie. If you choose to include a center seam in the Ascot tie, 130cm of fabric width will yield one Ascot tie without the seam and one with the seam.
For those creating Ascot ties using vertical or horizontal fabric patterns, a length of around 140cm with the 100cm-wide fabric should be sufficient.
With a width of approximately 35cm, two Ascot ties without seams can be produced using 100cm-wide fabric.
