About the Production Area: Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi

All of our Shawl Label Silk fabrics are woven in a small, traditional weaving workshop in Fujiyoshida — one of Japan’s most renowned silk production regions. With a history dating back to the Heian period, the area is blessed with pure spring water from Mt. Fuji, a vital element for high-quality dyeing.

In the weaving process, our blended Shawl Label Silk uses 13,000 warp threads in just 47 cm of fabric width. The weft yarn is created by twisting two 120-denier threads into a robust 240-denier thread.

The fabrics are slowly woven on shuttle looms, allowing air to be trapped inside and giving the material a rich, dimensional feel. Throughout the process, skilled artisans inspect every inch to ensure flawless quality. From dyeing and spinning to warping and weaving, every step is handled with care and precision under strict quality control standards.
