About Nikke Textile Co., Ltd.

Nikke Textile Co., Ltd. was established in 2014 as a wholly owned subsidiary of The Japan Wool Textile Co., Ltd., specializing in the planning, manufacturing, and sales of fashion textiles.

Their factories perform integrated production processes—from spinning and weaving to dyeing and finishing—and the company continues to create innovative collections by reinterpreting their 120+ years of historical archives through a modern lens. These include the Heritage Series, inspired by classic designs, and functional lines such as Wool Denim developed using the latest textile technologies.

Their passion for exploration and craftsmanship fuels their ongoing global reach to fashion professionals.

Their business comprises four main divisions:

  • Domestic Textile Division
  • Overseas Textile Division
  • Knit & Yarn Sales Division
  • Apparel Textile Division

Notably, their Knit & Yarn Sales Division has seen significant growth by promoting the performance qualities of wool yarns to sports brands.

About the Bunch Book Production

Originally developed to support swatch sales of piece goods overseas, Nikke started producing bunch books around three years ago. Since then, they have steadily gained popularity, especially among made-to-order tailoring shops.

With the goal of creating wool fabrics that embody both “Japanese” and “NIKKE” identity, fabric planning is conducted at their Creative Studio in Ichinomiya, where their design and development team is based.

Overview of NIKKE’s Bunch Book Collection

DESIGN (All-season to Spring/Summer)

This series blends traditional NIKKE fabrics with current fashion trends, transforming them into cutting-edge materials through a uniquely Japanese sensibility.

Each fabric carries an artistic flair—classic patterns like glen checks or solids are interspersed with irregular, colorful knots and neps, creating a distinctive texture.

These are dry-touch, crisp fabrics ideal for year-round to spring/summer wear, revived from NIKKE’s archives (e.g., mélange yarns from the 1960s), and infused with playful details rarely found in men’s fabrics.

IMPERIAL BLACK (All-season)

Perfect for formal occasions, Imperial Black features a deep, rich black that stands out in any crowd. Compared to ordinary black garments, the depth of color is truly striking.

Crafted using proprietary techniques, this deep-tone finish symbolizes respect and is ideal for formalwear.

Japan is renowned for its skill in deep-tone processing, and Japanese formalwear enjoys a strong reputation abroad, especially in the prêt-à-porter sector.

Made with Super 180’s, 14.5-micron ultra-fine wool, this series delivers an exceptional level of luxury.

MAF (Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter)

MAF is a brand developed through a collaborative research agreement signed in 1988 between NIKKE and the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF).

After decades of research, they succeeded in producing ultra-fine wool (12–17 microns) in New Zealand’s pristine natural environment. Today, this high-grade wool is used by top brands around the world.

Even after 30 years, MAF’s production methods—using only carefully inspected wool, spun and woven with precision—are still upheld at NIKKE’s factories.

These textiles are not only luxurious and practical, but also environmentally conscious.

The New Zealand Merino sheep, raised with exceptional care, yield a raw material so valuable it’s in high demand, particularly across Europe. Thanks to their long-standing relationship with the New Zealand government, NIKKE ensures a stable supply.

MAF fabrics use double yarns for both warp and weft, which minimizes wrinkling and ensures a crisp, structured finish that lasts throughout the day.

CUBA BEACH (Summer)

This summer wool collection recreates the nostalgic spirit of 1960s tropical Cuba. Made with carefully selected wool, the fabric offers a dry touch and a firm hand, ideal for tailored summer garments.

As part of the NIKKE Heritage Series, it reflects the craftsmanship and philosophy passed down through generations.

The fabric has a coarser wool texture with a crisp, dry touch and vintage flair. It has become a hit in Europe for its retro charm and modern tailoring suitability.

WOOL DENIM (All-season)

This elegant wool denim is designed for everyday use, year-round. The collection includes various weights, offering versatility across occasions.

It combines the casual, rugged look of denim with the sheen, drape, and elegance of wool, making it ideal for both business and casual wear.

The yarn is carefully crafted to mimic the uneven, slubbed texture of classic denim, while retaining wool’s advantages: no fading, no dye transfer, and long-lasting color.

Using a special “fluctuation yarn,” the fabric achieves a natural, nuanced expression not possible with cotton. Wool denim offers a refined, grown-up alternative to standard jeans.

TRAVEL (All-season)

The TRAVEL series was designed for modern business life—where mobility, comfort, and elegance are essential.

Through thoughtful textile planning and advanced finishing techniques, the fabrics offer excellent stretch and wrinkle recovery, perfect for business trips.

You can wear the jacket and trousers as a set or separately, expanding your wardrobe flexibility.

Woven with color-blended yarns to minimize visible creases, these fabrics use Super 120’s wool for a smooth, luxurious feel while ensuring functionality.

They’re particularly well-suited for those new to tailoring or looking for low-maintenance options that still exude sophistication.
